I’m Dele Grillo 🤎, an estate planning attorney-turned-Legacy Coach. I’d like to share a little about why I put my heart into this work.

For years, I watched busy professionals and families put off estate planning. Not because they didn’t care, but because life was already full and the process often feels intimidating, confusing, and easy to push aside for “someday.”

But I also began to notice something else.

Through my years in estate planning practice, and in the years that followed, I saw that even families who had taken the responsible step of putting legal documents in place could still be left unprepared for what came next.

While wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other essential legal documents are critically important, getting them prepared and signed does not always mean all the work is done. Families can still be left struggling to understand the plan, find important information, figure out who is responsible for what, or make difficult decisions at a time when they are already under the stress of grief.

That gap stayed with me.

That’s why I created Legacies Matter.

I wanted to help busy professionals and families not only navigate the estate planning process, but also understand it, participate more meaningfully in it, better prepare the people involved, and ultimately bring the important pieces around their plan together.

  • Choosing your attorney. We’ll guide you on what to look for in an estate planning attorney, but the decision of who you hire is always yours. This keeps your relationship with your attorney fully independent, while we simply make sure you’re ready for that conversation.
